The Nixa Police Department is comprised of 49 members. The department is divided by function into a quasi-military structure in order to clearly define the “chain of command,” establish a span of control, and to clarify the delegation of authority.
The department is directed by the Chief of Police, and its functions are grouped into Bureaus, Divisions, Sections, Units, or other components. The chain of command under each Bureau is specified in the organizational chart shown, which also designates levels of command.
The Command Staff is responsible for the oversight of daily operations, budget management, professional accountability and creating, adopting and ensuring adherence to policies, guidelines and proper procedures.
Staff continuously strives to meet the strategic goals and expectations of the City Administration and City Council while providing guidance and support to all Nixa Police Department personnel.
