Count on us to provide affordable services at a competitive rate.
As a municipal utility, Nixa Utilities has no profit motive, and provides services at the cost necessary to operate and maintain the systems while improving and expanding to accommodate city growth. The city does not use tax revenue to operate, maintain or improve our utility systems, rather, our customers cover those costs by paying their utility bills.
Billing and Due Dates:
If your bill is mailed out on the 3rd, it will be due on the 20th of the same month.
If your bill is mailed out on the 17th, it will be due on the 5th of the following month.
If your billing date lands on a weekend or holiday, the due date will be the following business day.
Late Payment Penalties:
Due dates are the 5th and 20th each month. This is dependent on your location on your reading routes and cannot be changed.
Bills are due by 5 pm on your due date. This is not dependent on your payment method.
Late fee is 10%
Disconnects For Non-Payment:
A $50 flat-fee will show up on your bill as a service charge for late payment. The $50 will be charged if you are ten days past due and still carry an unpaid balance over $50.00. We do not require you to pay an additional deposit to be reconnected; however, you will be responsible for your past due balance in addition to the $50 service charge.
If your account has been disconnected please contact our office for reconnect information. 417-725-3229
We offer a 3-month payment plan to those who are struggling to pay utility bills. This will take your entire past-due balance and spread it out over three months in addition to your current bills to help catch up. If you miss an installment, your past-due balance is then due immediately or you are subject to disconnection.
