Nixa Police Station
Project Summary
The Nixa Police Station is undergoing construction off of Leeann Drive, approximately a mile west of its current location. This building was made possible by the citizens of Nixa who approved a 3/4 cent general sales tax back in 2023. The new building will be approximately 20,000 sqft with opportunities to expand with an additional 10,000 sqft once needed. This new building aims to address the spacing issues of its current building while allowing for future growth to meet the needs of the community. The anticipated completion date of the facility is late 2026.

Project Documents
Following the passage of a 3/4 cent general sales tax in 2023, the new Police Station is undergoing construction to address community growth, public safety, and staff capacity. The new construction will:
- Move Police Department staff & functions from its existing building into the new 20,000 Police Station, off of Leeann Drive.
- Allow for future growth with an expandable footprint of 10,000 additional sqft once necessary.
- Help the Police Department keep pace with the growing needs of the community.

Construction Update
KCI has been working on the bollard and gate post installation for the trash enclosure and placing the site light pole bases. The structural masonry is complete.

Construction Update
KCI has been working on foundation installation of outdoor trellis and installing the structural steel. The have finished the sally port slab installation and have masonry working on the armory/bulk storage/evidence areas.

Construction Update
KCI is working on the building perimeter foundation drain installation. The masonry is ongoing around the future classroom area with subs penetrating the block as needed for Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing (MEP) items.
November 20, 2025
Construction Update
KCI has finished installing the majority of the building slab, with cure sheets on the slab. AT&T was on site lowering their fiber line to avoid a conflict with the fiber and stormwater for the detention basin.

KCI is working on the underground plumbing and electrical. The building foundation installation is complete and the slab form work is underway.

Police Station Groundbreaking Ceremony
The City of Nixa held a groundbreaking ceremony with members of the community to celebrate the start of the project.
August 27, 2025
Construction Kickoff Meeting
City Staff met with KCI to kickoff the Police Station Construction Project. The contractor was given approved plans from the City to begin mobilization.
