The City of Nixa owns all water system development in the City, along with approximately 100 residences and businesses outside the City limits. There are 14 full time employees that maintain the water and wastewater systems. The City’s water source is groundwater, drawn from eight wells tapped into a deep aquifer, ranging from 1251 feet to 1700 feet deep. The groundwater meets all state standards for potable water with treatment by chlorination and fluoridation. The water system also includes seven elevated storage towers.
