Two Interim Council Members Appointed

At the September 26, 2022 meeting of Nixa City Council, both vacant council seats were filled by new appointees who will serve in the council member roles until the April 2023 municipal election.

District 1 Council Member and Mayor Pro Tem Jarad Giddens nominated Matt Ogden to be appointed to fill the vacant District 1 seat which had been resigned by Amy Hoogstraet. No other nominations were submitted. The council voted in unanimous approval of the nomination and Mr. Ogden was sworn in as interim council member for District 1. He then joined the council immediately and began voting on the remaining agenda items for the meeting. In the April election, residents of District 1 will elect a council member to complete the final year of the term to which Hoogstraet was originally elected.

District 3 Council Member Darlene Graham nominated Seth Balogh to be appointed to fill the vacant District 3 seat which had been resigned by Justin Orf. No other nominations were submitted. The council voted in unanimous approval of the nomination and Mr. Balogh was sworn in as interim council member for District 3. He then joined the council immediately and began voting on the remaining agenda items for the meeting. In the April election, residents of District 3 will elect a council member to complete the final 2 years of the term to which Orf was originally elected.
