Project Summary
Information on the construction progress of a roundabout at the intersection of CC & Main Street.
Project Information:
- Build a roundabout at Christian County Route CC, North Main Street & West Cedar Street in Nixa to improve safety and traffic flow
- Installing storm sewer
- Roundabout improvements will tie into the City of Nixa’s Main Street Project
- Pedestrian facilities are part of the intersection
- Approximately 8,300 vehicles per day use the intersection
- Construction to being in April 2026
- Estimated Total Cost: $5.75 million
- Contractor: KCI Construction Co, Springfield
- The project is scheduled for completion in Fall 2027
Traffic Impacts
- Intersection closures will be in place during construction
- A signed detour using Route 160, Route 14, and Route 65 will be in place
- Access to businesses will be provided at all times
- Electronic message boards and new releases will warn the public of closures
- Drivers urged to use alternate routes during construction to avoid the work zone
- Signs and message boards will alert drivers to the closure

Focus of Public Meeting Thursday, March 12
Those interested in a project to build a roundabout at Christian County Route CC, North Main Street, and West Cedar Street in Nixa are invited to a public meeting on Thursday, March 12, to discuss traffic impacts during construction and project information, the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
The come-and-go style meeting will be held 4:30-6 p.m., Thursday, March 12, at the Nixa Police Department Training Room, 715 W. Center Circle, Nixa. No formal presentation is planned. Those who attend may come at any time between 4:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. to learn about the project and ask questions.
Those unable to attend the in-person meeting can view exhibits and get project information by visiting www.modot.org/southwest. MoDOT is committed to providing access to this event for all participants. If you need a reasonable accommodation or translation services, please contact Southwest District Communications at 417.895.7600 by March 6. For those unable to access the online meeting, contact MoDOT’s Southwest District Office, and accommodations will be made to share the information.
This informational meeting marks the third in a series of public meetings held to engage the communi9ty on this project. Previous opportunities for public input were offered in July 2023 and September 2024.
