As we break ground on Nixa’s new solar farm – the largest in the state – I wanted to take a moment to look back at the proud history of Nixa’s electric utility. We have all been effected recently by the outages related to the failure of the transformer at the Espy sub-station. Murphy’s law tells us – anything that can go wrong will go wrong – and that is definitely what has happened to our services over the past several weeks. Battling upgrades, lightning strikes and damaged power lines – our electric employees have continually worked to overcome this string of unforeseeable events.
