Letter from the Mayor: March 2025
March 6, 2025
As we look forward to welcoming spring, I want to take a moment to reflect on the challenges our community faced and overcame during last months Winter Storm Bradley.
The exceptional response to this weather event highlighted something I’ve always known but am continually grateful for – the dedication and professionalism of our city staff. I want to extend my deepest appreciation to our Public Works employees who worked tirelessly around the clock to clear our roads and ensure the safety of our community. Their quick response and thorough work allowed our citizens to resume their daily activities with minimal disruptions despite the snowfall accumulation.
Equally important was the outstanding communication effort led by our Director of Communications and supported by all department heads. Their commitment to gathering accurate information and providing timely updates kept our community informed throughout the winter weather event. This allowed my office to share critical information with all of you when you needed it most.
The success of our response to the winter storm is a testament to the preparation, coordination, and dedication of the city staff who work behind the scenes. Their efforts exemplify the spirit of service that makes Nixa such a special place to live.
As we look forward to warmer days ahead, I encourage you to join me in thanking these individuals when you see them around town. Their work not only keeps our city functioning smoothly during emergencies but enhances our quality of life every day.
Serving you continues to be my greatest honor.
Sincerely,
Mayor Jarad Giddens
