Contractor’s License

Want to provide building contractor services inside Nixa city limits? If you’re building from the ground up, you’ll need to apply for a contractor license using myNixa.

Fees:

  • The fee for a new Contractor’s License is $50.00.
  • Existing Nixa contractors may renew their licenses for a fee of $25.00. (Any gap in renewal will automatically require a new contractor’s license application and a fee of $50.00.)

Please review the step-by-step instructions before completing your application form online.

1

Contractor’s/Business License Application

Please complete the Contractor’s License Application using myNixa (BS&A portal) for the business, corporation, partnership, Limited Liability Company, limited liability partnership, professional corporation, sole proprietorship, association of person, etc.

The contractor’s license will expire December 31st of the application year.

2

Worker’s Comp Insurance

If your business has Worker’s Compensation Insurance, please attach a copy of your Insurance Certificate from your insurance company. If necessary, this certificate may be emailed to cityhall@nixa.com, however, your online application will not be complete unless an image file of your insurance certificate is attached at the time of submission of the online form.

3

Affidavit of Exemption for Workers Comp.

Please complete the Affidavit of Exemption for Workers Compensation, only if your business does not have Worker’s Compensation Insurance. A notary is available at Nixa City Hall. Either an insurance certificate proving workers comp coverage, or an Affidavit of Exemption must be attached and submitted with the online application in order for your application to be considered complete.

4

Receiving your City of Nixa Contractor’s License

Once you complete your contractor’s license application you will be issued a City of Nixa business license. The business license number serves as your contractor’s license number.

The application must be completed whether you are a first-time applicant or applying for a renewal.
