In August 2014, a group of 30 city and community leaders came together to begin a new strategic planning process for the city. This group, called the NCIP (Nixa Continuing Improvement Planning) committee, used the Cambridge Model of Strategic Planning to create a set of beliefs, parameters, objectives, and strategies for the city as well a new mission statement.

From January through April 2015, action teams comprised of more than 50 community members met weekly to construct plans to bring the four new strategies focusing on Transportation, Community Involvement, Economic Development, and Recreation to fruition over the next five years.

In June 2015, Nixa City Council voted to approve the new five-year strategic plan that the city is currently using as a guide to improve quality of life for our citizens.

In this section of our web site, you will find the different parts of the plan separated out (see links in the sidebar).
