City of Nixa Hires a New Assistant City Administrator

June 17, 2026

The City of Nixa is happy to announce the hiring of a new Assistant City Administrator.

Wesley Young will start on July 13th. He replaces Cindy Robbins, who is retiring after serving 37 and a half years with the city.

Young has spent more than 20 years serving communities through state and local government. He most recently served as the City Administrator for the City of Willard, Missouri. His experience includes public administration, organizational leadership, and municipal operations, with a strong focus on problem-solving. He also has served in the Arkansas state government and leadership roles within other municipal organizations.

Throughout his career, Young has focused on building strong teams, developing staff, and helping organizations navigate complex challenges. He is passionate about identifying innovative and practical solutions that improve services, streamline processes, and create value for the communities he serves. He believes local government works best when it is responsive, adaptable, and focused on continuous improvement.

Young holds a Master of Public Administration and is a Certified Public Manager. He also serves as an Adjunct Professor with the University of Arkansas, where he teaches Urban Politics.

“Most importantly, Wesley shares the values that guide everything we do here at City Hall — putting the citizens of Nixa first. I am confident that he will approach every challenge and every opportunity with that commitment at the center of his work.

Nixa is a city on the move, and having someone of Wesley’s caliber joining our leadership team is a tremendous asset. I look forward to the great things we will accomplish together on behalf of this community.” Mayor Jarad Giddens.

Outside of work, Young enjoys writing science fiction, exploring emerging technologies, and tackling new projects. He and his wife, Whitney, live in Willard with their son, Weston.
