City of Nixa Hires a New City Attorney

The City of Nixa is happy to introduce our new attorney, Kara Wacker. She started her new role on August 10th.

Wacker grew up in Christian County and has been a prosecutor for 10 years. She attended law school at the University of Arkansas and the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Over the years, she has worked closely with our police department and won their Citizens Service Award in 2025. “Kara brings a unique combination of legal experience and a strong understanding of our community.  We are excited to have someone with her experience and ties to Christian County join our team as City Attorney, and I am confident she will be a tremendous asset to the City of Nixa,” said City Administrator Jimmy Liles.

In her free time, she enjoys running and baseball, or in her words, “attempting to run to keep up with her Sheriff Deputy and wild young daughter. And praying for the KC Royals to go back to winning.”
