Letter from the Mayor: June 2026

June 4, 2026

Summer is here, and there is no better place to enjoy it than right here in Nixa.

With school out and the warm weather in full swing, our community has come alive in the best possible way. The pool and splash pad at McCauley Park are open, families are spreading out blankets at Rotary Park and McCauley Park, and the laughter of kids enjoying a summer evening outdoors has become the soundtrack of our city. I’ll admit — I make a point to drive by both parks just to take it all in. Seeing our citizens out together, unplugged and enjoying everything Nixa has to offer, never gets old. It is a reminder of why this community is so special.

One of my favorite summer traditions is back as well. Movies in the Park, generously sponsored by The Massengale Group of KW, is in full swing and continues to be a wonderful way to bring neighbors together under the stars. If you haven’t made it out yet, I encourage you to grab some food from one of our incredible local restaurants — whether it’s a longtime favorite or one of the many exciting new businesses that have recently joined the Nixa family — and head to the park for a night to remember. Our local businesses are the backbone of this community, and supporting them while enjoying a meal with family and friends in the park is about as good as a summer evening gets.

On the city operations front, I am excited to share that we are in the final stages of completing the Nixa City Hall remodel — a project that has been a long time coming. As Nixa continues to grow, it was essential that our city operations keep pace. This remodel brings more departments under one roof, streamlining services and making it easier than ever for residents to get the help they need in a single visit. No more navigating multiple buildings — we are committed to making every interaction with your city government as convenient and efficient as possible. This project reflects our ongoing dedication to building a city infrastructure that serves you well today and is ready for the growth ahead.

As always, we are not done looking for new ways to better serve Nixa. We will continue to seek out innovative ideas and practical solutions that make city government more accessible, responsive, and effective for every resident.

I also want to remind everyone to follow the City of Nixa on social media for the latest news, event announcements, and important updates. It is one of the best ways to stay connected and informed about what is happening in your city.

To every Nixa resident — thank you for making this such a vibrant and welcoming community. It continues to be the greatest honor of my life to serve the greatest city with the greatest citizens anywhere. I hope you and your families have a wonderful start to your summer.

With gratitude,

Mayor Jarad Giddens
