Nixa Utilities has a total of 11 employees, consisting of 1 Supervisor, 5 Utility Account Specialist and 4 Customer Service Technicians and 1 Locator.

Customer Service Technicians (CST) conduct meter readings in one-half of Nixa every two weeks. An effort is made to read more than 9,000 customer water and electric meters approximately the same day of each month.


The Utility Account Specialists monitor the bills very closely. Every effort is made to catch accounts that appears to have a large discrepancy in the amount of the bill from the previous month, the CST makes a second site visit to check the readings for accuracy. This results in determining if there may be a water leak, etc., which assists in alerting the customer to the problem.  CSTs read new meter requests and requests for final reads and set new water meters. Our locator works closely with building contractors by locating and marking all of the City's utilities upon request; and installing new water meters when building construction begins.
