The following applications can be filled out and downloaded by clicking on the name of the desired permit. Permit must be submitted in person with supporting documentation and payment:
For Single Family homes, Patio Homes and Duplex Units Please refer to our Building Guidelines for code requirements. Please Note: all plans that are submitted for review MUST be at least 1/8" scale.
|For residential homes that are being structurally renovated and /or work being done to the electric or plumbing and additions to the home.|
|For the construction of any fence residential or commercial.|
|For all accessory structures. Sheds must meet our setback requirements of 5' from the side and 6' from the back.|
|Porches/Deck must meet a 20' rear yard setback. Please refer to the Deck Building Guidelines for code requirements.|
|For shelters being installed inside the home or outside the home.|
|For both above ground and below ground pools|
|This permit is for anything that is not covered by the permits above. (i.e. upgrade to the electrical or plumbing)|
|The City has provisions for closing off certain streets for neighborhood block parties, City Ordinance Chapter 12 Section 2-32 and 33. There is no charge for this permit. Please allow at least 10 days between the date of application and the date of your party.|
|For the removal of any structure within the City Limits.|
|For the installation of solar panels. A Net Metering agreement should be submitted along with the permit application. For rules and regulations on Solar Installation, please see our Solar Guide.|
|For Commercial and Industrial Buildings and Multi-Family/Apartment Buildings. Refer to the Commercial Building Checklist for a list of the required information and documents before a plan review can begin.|
|For commercial businesses that are being structurally renovated and/or work being performed to the electric or plumbing. This includes any additions to the building.|

Special Event permit applications cannot be submitted online, if you are planning a special event, please complete the application, print it out, and return it to Nixa City Hall.
Special Events are those activities that are temporary in nature. Events include such items as fund raisers, seasonal promotional events, membership drives, etc. Please allow at least 10 days between the date of application and the date of your event.
|For seasonal fireworks stands inside the City limits of Nixa operating between June 20th and July 2nd.|
You will need a Contractor's License if you are building in the City of Nixa. The application fee is $50 with an annual renewal fee of $25 if applied for within the next calendar year. The City of Nixa requires contractors to provide proof of Worker's Compensation. If a contractor does not have Worker's Compensation, you will need to sign an Affidavit of Exemption in the presence of a Notary Public. The City of Nixa will provide a Notary free of charge.
