The city has put forth a significant amount of effort in making Nixa a GIGABIT city. The city was prepared to make this investment on behalf of the community absent a private sector(s) acceptance of its service. Currently, Suddenlink, Sho-Me Electric and KAMO have the ability of providing full gigabit internet service virtually anywhere within the city.
The city will continue to take a proactive role of master planning Nixa in order to pre-plan highest and best use properties for their preservation and ultimately their development for place of work.
Through Nixa's membership with Springfield Regional Economic Partnership (SREP), it will implement a formal business retention and expansion (BRE) program for the city's basic employers. In addition, the city will work in conjunction with SREP to implement a more formal marketing plan in promotion of Nixa's place of work opportunities.

MU extension works with Missouri Training Institute to provide customized leadership, supervisory, professional training to employers and the general public. A group of University of Missouri Extension employees in the SW Region have been teaching some of their curriculum for the past year and a half. To date they have provided three separate customized sessions for local employers and several other leadership/supervisory workshops to the general public.
