Physical Agility TestInstructions and scoring for each test Vertical jump: The applicant will be provided a latex glove and apply ink to the tip of the middle finger on the hand of their choice. The applicant will stand against a wall, reach and touch (leaving a mark) as high as possible he/she can on the wall (keeping both feet flat on the ground). For the jump, you must leave one foot planted, take a step and jump. The applicant will touch the wall at the climax of their jump leaving a second mark. The measurement will be the distance between the highest points of both marks. A score will be given based upon the following scale: 14.5” or higher = 10 points Reps will be counted in this manner: from the down position, up and then back down is one rep. If the applicant needs to rest it shall be done in the “up position.” There is no minimum number required nor is there a time limit but the maximum that will be scored is 31 reps. A score will be given based upon the following scale: 31 or more = 10 points Push ups: The applicant will start in the “up position.” Hands should be shoulder width apart, and the feet should be together or just slightly apart. The applicant’s elbows must be at a 90 degree angle in the down position. Reps will be counted in this manner: down and back up is one rep. If the applicant needs to rest it shall be done in the “up position” by arching or bowing the back. The applicant is not allowed to pick their hands up off of the ground during the test. If the applicant needs to adjust their hands, this can be done by scooting the hands without breaking contact with the ground. There is no minimum number required nor is there a time limit but the maximum that will be scored is 25 reps. A score will be given based upon the following scale: 25 or more = 10 points There is no minimum time limit for the completion of the run. A score will be given based upon the following scale: 71 seconds or less = 10 points 1.5 mile run: The applicant must complete a 1.5 mile run. The test is conducted on a standard quarter (1/4) mile track and requires six full laps. There is no minimum time limit for the completion of the run. A score will be given based upon the following scale: 16:04 minutes or less = 10 points |
