Impound Fees and Procedure

All dogs found to be running at large shall be taken into custody and impounded in the City Dog Pound, to remain a minimum of five days. If the animal is not claimed at the end of five days, then at the discretion of the Chief of Police, the animal may be destroyed.

If the dog is claimed while in the City Dog Pound, the owner of the dog will pay a service fee of $20.00, plus a board fee of $3.00 per day of impound.

Animals can be released Monday-Friday between the hours of 9:30 am to 4:30 pm .
