Communications - E911

 In 1994, the city's 911 system was updated to an enhanced 911 system. The dispatch center is staffed 24 hours a day. The new E911 system is equipped with a telecommunications device for the hearing impaired (TDD). This equipment is to the hearing impaired what the telephone is to the rest of us - an essential element of daily living.

Besides serving the Nixa Police Department, this system serves the entire Nixa Fire Protection District, which is over 56 square miles.
