Animal Control Division

The City of Nixa has one full time Animal Control Officer. ACO BJ Sartin works 40 hours a week and is on call twenty-four hours a day for emergencies.

ACO Sartin has several responsibilities which include:

Maintaining the City kennel to exceed State Department of Agriculture standards
Capturing and caring for dogs abandoned or allowed to run loose
Picking up dead animals from public property
Investigating animal bites and cases of neglect
Submitting necessary paperwork and proper reports
Enforcement of City and State Laws, which include:

Animal limitations
Dangerous dogs
Rabies vaccination
City tag requirements
City leash law

ACO Sartin is a proponent for community education and awareness. He is often present at community events to interact with the Citizens of Nixa and give information on Nixa Animal Control. For additional information click on the links to the right.
